It will be a small home, first of all. It will have a nice petite kitchen, a room, a living room (or not), and a restroom with a shower in it. My room will be cozy. I will not buy a bed. I will put the mattress on the floor because who wants to sleep at a distance from the floor? And I will have a simple green curtain, and I will make sure I can wake up with the sunrise. I will have a desk to work from home whenever I don’t want to go to university. It will have a lamp to make reading easier and a couple of posters on the wall. Next to the desk, there will be a little bookshelf full of books, with some on the floor next to it.

My kitchen will have a small oven so I can bake with my friends and chat in front of it in the oven light while our cookies are baking. I will have my toaster and my kettle right next to my stovetops. I think I will need only two tops.

I want my living room to have one double sofa and one single sofa. I will have a nice carpet in between. I will keep two of my favorite board games next to my sofa. There will always be a sofa blanket on the double sofa so I can take a nap or offer my tired friends a quick nap. I will not have any big ceiling lighting—I hate those. Instead, I will have a lot of little lamps all over the place. I will keep a couple of pictures of my family, my friends, my favorite person, and my favorite vacation on a shelf somewhere. You will see my two or three pairs of shoes next to the door and some hangers that hold my umbrella and my jacket. Next to a wall, you will see many stacks of books on the floor. They are not evenly ordered, but behind them, there will be a mirror. From time to time, when I have friends over, I will look in the mirror and see us from a second point of view.

It will always be warm—not figuratively, but literally warm. Fresh air is always welcome, but it will be a warm home.
